It’s often said that every business should have a Mission Statement. Something that they strive for, their vision and the principles they do business by.
It guides their existence and purpose and provides a framework to define its key market, contribition and distinction to others. So what is My Wooden Railway about, who is our customer and what makes us different?
Our Mission Statement
Whilst we may not have fully articulated this mission statement in full and in great detail, it’s important to share what we think is important.
My Wooden Railway is all about;
Passion – being passionate about what we do and the positive difference we make to others
Creativity – allowing others to use their boundless imagination to be creative in play
Quality – of the products we sell and the awesome service we strive to give to our customers
Community – building a community for others to socially share experiences and their interests
We are building this business from the ground up, track piece by track piece. We truly hope that people will get value from what we do. Things don’t happen overnight, and in fact, some would say that our Station Master has a fine eye for detail and doing things right.
Do let us know what your think on Facebook and Twitter.
Many thanks,
The Station Master and the My Wooden Railway Team
We were all given the warnings over the weekend and the stories of The Great Storm of 1987, but when we awoke this morning, it was a massive relief. It appeared not to have caused as much distruction as anticipated.
However, for thousands of people the #ukstorm will have caused a massive disruption. Train companies cancelling services and cancellations expected throughout the day. Trees are down across train lines coming into and out of London, with particular disruption for people trying to get to Gatwick Airport in West Sussex.
Expect a day of people on social media sharing their photos and stories. Here’s our take on the situation… trees on the line!

The UK storm creates massive train disruption with trees on the track #ukstorm
As we approach the end of October and the clocks have gone back this weekend, it means only one thing…
It’s almost Christmas
In fact the Christmas countdown say it’s only 58 days to go, so it’s time to start building out the website, load up the eBay Store, take the product photos and videos, write the descriptions and much more!
To excite you, we have plenty of BRIO to sell, from rare items to the present day, and to inspire you, we have lots of photos of train track layouts to give you more creative ideas.
We hope to have the store launched in November, so this blog will document the journey as we countdown to the launch.
Make sure that you click through to our social media profiles to keep up to date.
Many thanks,
My Wooden Railway Team
